North American Squirrel Association (nasa), an organization dedicated to providing outdoor activities to the disabled, held a crossbow event at the rod and gun on August 3. Some of the participants had never shot a crossbow before. After a 2 hour morning class covering safety and the operation of the weapon, it was time for lunch and then out to the range. After a quick reminder about the safety tips, each shooter with their mentors sent some bolts down range. Everyone got to shoot a number of times. Several shooters were blind, and their crossbows were equipped with laser sights. As you can see from the pictures, several shooters did very well. Thanks to the rod and gun for providing the facility, the volunteers who donated their valuable time on a Saturday, and the nasa organization for providing the opportunities for the disabled to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. Go to their website or Facebook page to see all the different activities they provide the disabled people of the Coulee region.
The rifle and pistol range will be closed on these dates:
November 16 after 4
November 16 after 4
The north american squirrel association has a track chair available for use to the general public. If you know of someone who could benefit using one of these for an event, contact someone from the attached flyer.

As of January 1st, 2017 the club property will no longer be open for hunting by members or non-members. Currently the club property is enrolled in the open managed forest land program, and thus we have to allow hunters. There have been problems with hunters not knowing where the club property lines are, and they end up trespassing on our neighbors property. As of January 1, the club property will no longer be open for hunting.
